Bill Browning is one of the green
building and real estate industry's foremost thinkers and
strategists, and an advocate for sustainable design solutions at
all levels of business, government, and civil society. His
expertise has been sought out by organizations as diverse as
Fortune 500 companies, leading universities, non-profit
organizations, the U.S. military, and foreign governments. In
1991, Bill founded Green Development Services at Rocky Mountain
Institute, an entrepreneurial, non-profit "think and do tank"
whose work advances energy-efficient and
environmentally-responsive design. In 1999 Green Development
Services was awarded the President's Council for Sustainable
Development/Renew America Prize. Bill remains a Senior Fellow at
RMI.
ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: The green building market has enjoyed
exponential growth since the launch of LEED, with commensurate
increase in green building-related incentives, policies, and
expansion into new business sectors. Browning will draw from
experience with some of the largest and most influential
organizations around the world to discuss new trends in green
development as well as to demonstrate why everyone should be no
less than optimistic of the continued healthy growth of the
green building industry.
The Urban Sustainability Forum is now the Tranformational
Lecture Series The new series aims to inspire all building
industry professionals to embrace their role in creating a
sustainable built environment now, as well as ensuring that
sustainability becomes integral to all development in the
future. By reminding us why we must act boldly and helping us to
imagine a world where sustainability is the baseline, these
lectures promise to inspire a revolution!
Transformational Lecture Series events are FREE to the public
thanks to our sponsors: BetterBricks, Cascadia Region Green
