This is a unique opportunity for a professional in the field of Landscape Architecture to work on high-profile active transportation projects in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. We specialize in bicycle, pedestrian, trail, park, greenway, and roadway planning, design, and implementation in addition to outreach and education programs. As a Designer II you’ll contribute to the production of high-quality conceptual designs and construction design packages, assist with public outreach efforts and work alongside project managers and other key staff in the development of project deliverables. You will also be an integral part of the growth of Alta in this region. The Designer II will be responsible for photo renderings, concept sketches, and assistance with plant palettes and landscape design recommendations, design or redesign of roadways to follow complete street principles, and cost estimates and construction drawings. Job RequirementsWe’re seeking a professional who has an interest in the field of active transportation, a general understanding of design principals and demonstrates a high level of proficiency in AutoCAD and the Adobe Creative Suite, along with experience in ArcGIS, SketchUp, and other graphic software. You have a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field and have one (1) or more years of related experience. In addition, you enjoy working independently with supervision, are able to manage competing priorities for multiple projects, and bring excellent written and verbal communication skills.
