The Value of WASLA Membership
On October 24th the newly
appointed WASLA Executive Committee (EC) met for a planning
retreat. One of the main topics of discussion was the subject of
value for our members. We realize that in this tough economy the
cost of membership can be a strain. For new and renewing members
a question that must be answered is, "What is the value?" During
our planning session the EC challenged each other to answer this
question by adding further value for our members. We are
committed to expanding the services available to our members and
increasing opportunities to learn and grow as Landscape
Architects. We are also looking to improve communication between
the Executive Committee and the member base so you will know
what issues the EC is focusing on. Now that Washington is a
practice act state we are excited to focus our efforts on
improving the value and services for Landscape Architects in
Washington.
The benefits of WASLA Membership
include professional and social networking, educational
opportunities, and the chance to play a key part in supporting
and shaping the profession. In addition to the current benefits
available to WASLA members, we are excited about the new
programs to be initiated 2010.
