Accessible Routes Matter: ADA Standards for Inside & Outside Play

Description:

From schools to neighborhoods, playgrounds can be found across a variety of settings. The 2010 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Accessibility for Play Areas provides the foundation needed to think beyond the minimum guidelines to promote inclusive play. This session will review the requirements for newly constructed, altered, and existing outdoor play areas by focusing on getting to the play area and the users experience inside the play area. Hands-on activities and interactive videos will bring the content to life for a better understanding of these critical issues.
