Entry/Mid Level Landscape DesignerEmployerProject Groundwork Job DescriptionWe are looking for a bright, creative and driven landscape architect or designer with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience for the Seattle office of Project Groundwork, an SCJ Alliance Studio. Our fun, fast-paced open studio is near the Ballard Bridge in Seattle. We share the building with DeForest Architects and Ore Studios, creating a dynamic and collaborative environment. All studio and office spaces surround an interior courtyard, ensuring plenty of natural light and a serene work environment in an industrial, up and coming neighborhood. Project Groundwork is part of SCJ Alliance, a 70-person multidisciplinary firm with 4 offices. Enjoy the benefits of a large firm, but with a distinct small firm feel and focus in our 4-person Landscape Architecture studio. Our ideal new team member should be starting to manage or already managing projects and is familiar with permitting and building projects in Washington State. You will work on professional-level site and graphic design tasks for your own projects and in support of other project managers and principals throughout Project Groundwork and SCJ Alliance. Our new team member should have a great attitude, be flexible and enjoy a dynamic environment with varied tasks and project work that will include residential landscape architecture, park planning, streetscapes, ecological restoration, garden design and commercial landscape plans. Our workload is quite varied, you may manage a small garden one day and be working on a large scale masterplan the next. As part of our team, you will work on all aspects of a project including schematic design, site planning, construction drawings, production and on-site construction services. We're not afraid to get our hands dirty--meaning everyone in the office performs all tasks from production to management. Finally, our new colleague will have an interest in business development and be willing to help us pursue new work and develop potential new clients, ensuring continued growth and opportunities.
