Job Description

HNTB Corporation is currently seeking a Landscape Architect/Landscape Designer in our Bellevue, WA office. This position will work with a team of engineers, planners and other landscape architects to assist with and provide technical expertise in environmental mitigation design, roadside restoration, urban design, context sensitive solutions, visual quality/aesthetic assessments for a wide range of complex transportation clients. This position involves diversified work within general procedures, requiring frequent judgment and initiative. The ideal candidate will have experience working on projects in the Pacific Northwest.


  • Assist with design efforts for landscape architecture/urban design/environmental mitigation design services in Washington State.
  • Construction document development for planting, irrigation, grading, etc. relating to urban design and mitigation/restoration design.
  • Coordinate work efforts with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, architects, landscape architects, and planners.
  • Some field work relating to landscape and ecosystem assessment.

Job Requirements

  • Must have, at a minimum, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Resources, Ecosystem Restoration, Biology, Ecology or related discipline
  • At least one to five years of design experience producing bid plans, specifications and cost estimates
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and/or Microstation
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong abilities in graphic programs including Adobe Creative Suite; Photoshop, Sketchup and/or hand graphics are desired
  • Local candidates highly desired Other Qualifications (not required, but valuable):
  • Experience in writing environmental planning documentation relating to local, state, and federal permitting requirements
  • Experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) a plus
  • Knowledge of erosion and sediment control design.
