Job Description:

Hough Beck & Baird is a 15-person professional Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and Planning firm located in the South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle. Established in 1990, our firm offers an “open office” experience in a stimulating learning environment under transparent and collaborative leadership. New team members can expect to be involved in supporting design development and planning with a strong emphasis on design, both graphic design and the design of spaces, supporting project managers in diverse project tasks, and preparing drawings for construction documents.

Job Requirements:

Minimum qualifications include:

  • A degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university;
  • One to four years of experience in a Landscape Architecture firm;
  • Strong design skills as shown through design plans, sections, and vignettes.
  • Strong communication skills in presenting design ideas visually, verbally, and in writing;
  • Proficiency in MS Office 360 and Adobe Creative Suites;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2018 and Rhino in preparing 2-D and 3-D drawings.

  3. A maximum twelve page PDF portfolio, showing:
    1. Hand rendered plans and section/elevation illustration examples,
    2. One AutoCAD drafted construction drawing preferably of a custom design detail, and
    3. Project design examples and written narratives.
    4. All PDF pages should be formatted to fit an 8.5” x 11” or 11”x17” size either in portrait or landscape orientation
  4. Title the subject line in the email to read “HBB Position Application.”
